Arbitrum adds USDC purchases via Banxa — reaching 180+ countries
Arbitrum announced that users can now buy USDC through payment provider Banxa — via bank transfers, cards, and local payment methods available in their country.
What's actually supported
- The integration covers buying USDC specifically on the Arbitrum network for eligible orders.
- Payment methods include bank transfer, card, and local options available in a given region.
- Banxa's payment network covers more than 180 countries and supports over 30 fiat currencies — figures independently confirmed on Banxa's own USDC purchase page.
Who Banxa is
Banxa has operated as a publicly listed fintech company since 2014, holds licenses in more than 45 jurisdictions (including AUSTRAC registration in Australia and FinCEN registration in the US, plus MiCA authorization in the EU), and processes a new transaction roughly every 18 seconds while supporting over 100 payment methods worldwide.
Why it matters specifically for Arbitrum
Arbitrum remains the largest Ethereum layer-2 network by total value locked — roughly $14-18 billion, about 40% of the entire L2 market — home to protocols like GMX, Aave, Curve, and Camelot. A direct fiat on-ramp lowers the barrier to entry for new network users — there's no need to already hold crypto on another exchange just to get USDC directly on Arbitrum.
