Bitmine Immersion Technologies bought 7,391 ETH over the past week, the company said in a filing reported by CoinDesk. The purchase brought Bitmine's total holdings to 5,805,238 ETH, roughly 5.81 million tokens worth about $11.2 billion at current prices.

The number marks the smallest weekly addition Bitmine has made in 2026. Chairman Tom Lee's company bought more than 100,000 ETH in some weeks earlier this year. Weekly purchases fell to 76,881 ETH in mid-June, then 42,197 ETH in early July, then 7,430 ETH in late July, when Bitmine first started diverting cash toward stock buybacks. Last week's total came in at 10,399 ETH.

Over the past week, we acquired 7,391 ETH. Bitmine has bought ETH every week since the inception of the ETH Treasury Strategy on June 30, 2025, about 14 months ago.

Bitmine has put the difference into buying back its own stock. The company repurchased 3 million shares last week, bringing total buybacks to more than 19 million shares since July 1 under a $4 billion authorization. Lee called it the largest buyback program run by any Ethereum, Bitcoin, or crypto treasury company. Bitmine has staked 5,067,309 ETH, about 87% of its holdings, worth close to $9.8 billion, and projects $257 million in annual staking revenue from that position.

The holdings put Bitmine at 4.8% of ETH's total supply, close to Lee's public target of 5%, a threshold he calls the Alchemy of 5%. Bitmine's own release puts total treasury value, including cash, bitcoin, and other assets, at $11.6 billion; the ETH position alone accounts for roughly $11.2 billion of that.

  • 7,391 ETH bought last week, the smallest weekly addition Bitmine has made in 2026
  • Total holdings: 5,805,238 ETH, about 4.8% of supply, worth roughly $11.2B
  • 3 million shares repurchased last week, over 19 million since July 1

We covered Bitmine's push toward the 5% threshold as it closed in on the milestone: Bitmine nears 5% of ETH. The slowdown behind this week's number isn't new, either. Bitmine first cut its ETH purchases in late July to fund an $86 million stock buyback, a program that has since grown into the much larger repurchase effort running today.
