Wispr Flow is prepping a meeting notetaker, moving onto Granola's turf

Voice AI dictation app Wispr Flow appears to be preparing to launch a meeting notetaker feature — a conclusion drawn from the company's updated terms of service and privacy policy, which it emailed to customers.

The updated terms add a section governing "Meeting Data": meeting audio, participant information, call metadata, speaker labels and transcripts, along with AI-generated outputs such as summaries, action items and meeting insights. The feature itself is expected to transcribe meetings using system audio, meaning without formally joining the call, generate summaries and action items, and let users query their meeting history and get live transcripts with AI catch-up summaries in real time.

Wispr Flow declined to comment on the launch. Even so, the move puts it in direct competition with established players in the meeting-notetaker space — Granola, which previously raised $125 million at a $1.5 billion valuation, along with Fireflies, Read AI, Otter and Fathom.

  • Wispr Flow has raised over $81 million to date, last officially valued at $700 million
  • Bloomberg reported in May 2026 that the company was in talks for a round at a $2 billion valuation
  • Flow Pro subscription pricing as of August 2026 is $15 a month, or $12 with annual billing

The expansion into meetings fits a broader voice-AI boom we've covered before: Silicon Valley's weird AI-dictation mask trend turned out to be the tip of a $22 billion voice AI boom, and before that, how Silicon Valley workers started wearing noise-cancelling masks to dictate AI prompts right in the open office. Voice input for AI is no longer a niche feature — it's turning into its own infrastructure layer, one that dozens of startups are now competing over.

Wispr Flow hasn't officially confirmed anything yet, but the fact that a legal document already describes handling call audio, transcripts and AI-generated meeting insights usually means a launch is a matter of weeks, not months.
