Bitget just told funds how to borrow against tokenized Apple and Tesla stock
Crypto exchange Bitget published a guide to its Cross-Asset Unified Account (UTA) — a single account that merges crypto and tokenized US stocks into one shared collateral pool. The guide is aimed at market makers, funds, and other institutional market participants.
The system supports more than 370 assets, including 100 tokenized US stocks (rTokens) — among them rAAPL, rAMZN, rMETA, rTSLA, rGOOGL, rNVDA, rMSFT, and rMSTR. An rToken holder keeps economic exposure to the underlying stock, can receive dividend payments, use the token as margin for futures and margin trading, or pledge it to borrow stablecoins — meaning capital no longer has to move between separate accounts for different asset classes, Metaverse Post explains. Collateral discount rates go up to 95% depending on the asset type and position size, with borrowing costs recalculated hourly.
“Capital efficiency is one of the principles behind UEX, and the Cross-Asset UTA puts that idea into practice”
— Gracy Chen, Bitget CEO
- The product launched on July 16, 2026
- rToken assets under management surpassed $100 million within the first month
- Cumulative rToken trading volume has topped $671 million
Using tokenized stocks as collateral sounds convenient, but tokenization itself has a structural weak point that SpaceX's IPO exposed clearly — we covered it in detail here.
