Ayo Akinyele, Ripple's Senior Director of Engineering, will speak at XRP Seoul 2026, an event hosted by the XRPL Korea community on October 3 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul as part of Korea Blockchain Week, with Ripple serving as Title Sponsor. As U.Today reports, the event announcement describes Akinyele as the person who leads the development of AI, privacy, scalability, and institutional-grade infrastructure for the XRP Ledger.

Akinyele is a cryptographer with a Ph.D. in computer science from Johns Hopkins University who has spent more than a decade working on privacy-preserving blockchain technology. In recent months he's repeatedly discussed XRPL's priorities publicly: a multi-phase roadmap toward quantum-resistant cryptography by 2028, hybrid signature schemes that let the network switch instantly to protected protocols if a quantum attack is detected, and work on "machine wallets" and micropayments for autonomous AI agents. On infrastructure at this scale, in his own words: "We cannot afford to be unprepared."

  • Session topics: AI, privacy, scalability, and XRPL's institutional infrastructure

The event announcement lands just a day after we covered the fresh release of XRPL v3.3.0, with six new amendments spanning privacy to batch transactions — several of which sit directly within the areas Akinyele is set to discuss in Seoul.
